About Me

I fell in love with my first full-length book – an anthology of international fairy tales – at the tender age of 5. In my teens, I started expressing my feelings through words, and submitted my first poem in a national poetry contest, in which I - to my utter amazement and delight - ranked second among a well-established literary crowd. While attending law school, I wrote articles for various publications, and after graduating I spent most of my time woolgathering and dreaming of being an author.

In 2006, after having been laid off one too many times from my legal job in the IT industry, a few words from my better half – I believe it was something along the lines of, “You should stop dreaming and just start writing full-time. Another job is not what you want!” – had me get off my duster to finally follow my dreams. Since then, I haven't looked back! In the meantime, working as a freelance editor and academic writer has paid the bills. As far as my own work is concerned, I have always loved stories that revolve around love and relationships, so writing spicy, steamy romance was the natural way to go. My true passion is building real, three-dimensional characters with complex and strong, but likeable, personalities. With my stories, I hope to take my readers into a realm of joy and happiness that will spill positive emotions into their real lives.

On the personal front, I hail from Europe - from a lovely island in the Mediterranean called Malta. I have no brothers and sisters - although the family chihuahua, Oscar, has been affectionately labeled by some (especially by my closest family members) as my younger sibling (check out his pictures below - one shows him chilling with his best buddy after a tiring visit to the vet, and the other two are glamor shots he had specially made in his pursuit of a dream career in show biz. What a poser!).

Unfortunately, in his 9 years, Oscar has never shown any interest in getting hitched (weird, I know), but he does love to be taken out for fun rides in a doggie stroller (yes, that's what I said - a stroller!). In the winter, he likes to ease his arthritis pains by burrowing in his customized pure wool plaid sleeping bag with a doggie biscuit and a toy. I, on the other hand, love being hitched, although I do somewhat concur with Oscar's preference when it comes to warm blankets and cold winter nights. Anyway, I have been happily married for 7 years to a wonderful, supportive hypnotherapist/ author husband (check out his website here) - who, to Oscar's disillusionment, prefers German shepherds to chihuahuas - and for the past 8½ years I have made my home in Atlanta, GA.
